Arthur falls in love with Rowena the first time he sees her. She lives down the hall from him in college, and the first time he sees her in the cafeteria, he knew he was in love. He's always been more focused on school and studying than romance. That doesn't change; he'll always be more comfortable with physics and math than people. But he's surprised by how much he loves her. Some nights he even puts his telescope away to cuddle under the stars with her.
He proposes to her at the beginning of their senior year, and right after graduation they get married and move to a townhouse in New Athens. He never saw his life going this way, but he's surprised by how much he likes it. He always imagined he would devote his life to science, but now he's happy to devote his life to Rowena.
