young scientist

February 2037 - John and Abby Smith are 30, Jacob Smith is 3.

John and Abby are expecting their second child, and they've been trying to give Jacob extra attention before the baby comes.

Most of the time, Jacob is happy to spend time alone playing with his logic block. He's such a serious, focused toddler.

He's only three, but he already loves science. Neither of his parents know much about science, but they've bought him lots of books about astronomy, and he loves to look at the pictures with them.

He doesn't seem that interested in the new baby, just vaguely curious. He pats his mother's stomach and looks perplexed that there's a child growing inside.

"Can I play with the baby?"

"Not right away," his mother says, "but once he's older you can play with him."

Jacob just goes back to playing with the logic block.

The baby is born in August. It's another boy. They name him Elijah. He has brown hair like his parents, but he has Grandpa James' blue eyes.

Even though Jacob is only a toddler, he's already gotten an invitation to Aspirational Laboratories! I'm already planning for him to pursue a career in either Science or Medicine.
