heartbreaker

Fall Semester 2028 - Madison Miller-Kim is 20.

Madison knows what other people say about her - maneater, heartbreaker. She's never thought of herself that way. She'll concede that she's had a lot of boyfriends, and she's noticed that she's always the one who walks away. But the truth is a lot more complicated than those epithets imply.

The truth is she does love him. She did when they got engaged, and she still does now. And she wanted to marry him, or perhaps it's more accurate to say that she wanted to want to marry him. But she isn't very good at being faithful, especially when that means staying away from Tom.

He doesn't take it well when she breaks things off. "You said you loved me," he says. "How can you do this?"

He doesn't understand; she doesn't either, not completely. She just knows that she doesn't want to get married. Maybe she never will; her parents have been together for more than 25 years, and they've never gotten married.

She dyes her hair one day on a whim in the dorm bathroom. She chooses the color primarily based on its name - Berry Blast.

"Your hair looks awesome," Abhijeet comments as they share the Bubble Blower, "like a jelly bean. Or one of those Easter eggs, the plastic ones with candy in them."

"I love those things," says Justus.

It's easy being friends with these boys. They're simple, easily entertained and easily understood. With her pink hair and without the engagement, it's easy to lose herself in friends, fun, and the Bubble Blower.

I was having a hard time figuring out what to do about Madison's engagement. Even though she wanted to get engaged, she never rolled any wants related to her fiancee, and she kept rolling wants for Tom. So I downloaded the ACR, hoping that the more detailed attraction information would help me figure out what they wanted.

I don't know why Madison wanted to get engaged to Prof. Johnson because their attraction score was only about 40 while she and Tom had more than 190. Also he was listed as her One True Sim. So I decided to make her break up with him; she cried about it a little bit, but with all the cheating she was doing, I think she'll be happier in the long run.

Have other people run into similar drama regarding their Sims' love lives? How do you decide if two Sims will be together?
