family man

April 2033 - Arthur Cornwall is 54, Richie Gaunt and Ellie Cornwall are 25, Morgan Cornwall is 6 months.

Richie never thought he'd be a family man. His own family was so confusing - his parents divorced, then started dating each other. He knows they love each other, but they couldn't make marriage work. He loves Ellie, he has for as long as he can remember, but he wonders if their marriage will work any better than his parents did.

He is scared when he proposes, but once they are married, he knows it's right.

After graduation they move in with her father. They live in the townhouse Arthur and Rowena bought after they graduated, and they sleep in Ellie's childhood bedroom on the third floor.

They weren't expecting to have a baby so soon, but their daughter Morgan is born when they're only 25. She has her mother's blue eyes and her father's dark hair. They had been planning to wait a few more years before having children so they could focus on their careers, but they're suprisingly adept at balancing the two.

Richard works for the CIA, which takes him away a lot, but Ellie is able to do a lot of her writing at home. She's working on a new mystery novel, and she also works as a magazine editor.

Of course it helps that they live with Arthur. He's the director of Arcadia Laboratories, but his hours are flexible enough that he can stay home with Morgan when they need him. Plus, although Ellie once rolled her eyes at her father's practicing magic, she's learned that having a warlock in the family is very useful.

Before, he'd always been focused on success and career. In college all he wanted was to learn everything. But now when he looks at his daughter, he knows the most important thing is his family.
